DIS-ney at Sea!
Back in November of 2018 I was selected to be one of the official artists in the Star Wars Art Show at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Chicago. Around that same time I learned that the Disney Cruise was sponsoring a Star Wars Day at Sea event. I contacted the Lucasfilm event coordinator and told him that I would love to be part of that. I have been presenting the DrawingIsSimple method at the Star Wars conventions for years, so it seemed like a natural fit.
Well, I didn’t hear anything back until December 27 when I received a message saying that they needed to fill a last minute presentation spot on the cruise on either January 12th or the 19th. They asked if I would be interested in either of those dates. Um… YES!!! Here’s what they asked me to do…
As part of our Disney Behind the Scenes Presentation Series aboard our Star Wars Days at Sea, guests onboard Disney Cruise Line enjoy the opportunity to explore anything and everything Star Wars, including entertaining and engaging insights from individuals who actually create the magic … like you!
Please share the history and background of your career, and insights into your current role and projects. Keep in mind that our guests love being immersed in the world of Star Wars in fun, compelling ways – through trivia contests and drawing workshops, musical performances and blooper reels. They want to feel like, and even become, part of the magic (if only for a short time!).
Below is the audio recording of the presentation coupled with the slides that I showed as well as an image of the flyers that I handed out. You can see some short videos of the cruise experience on Instagram.
